Papa Owl and Rocket the Dog’s Big Flying Adventure

Papa Owl and Rocket the Dog’s Big Flying Adventure is the first of the Papa Owl series of children’s books targeted to 5-7 year olds.

Papa Owl is an old inventor. He lives in a small house in a wood overlooking the sea on Sandy Island. He shares his house with Rocket the dog and two Owls called Barney and Snowdrop. He has two granddaughters, Fifi and Flossie, who visit him every Sunday. Fifi and Flossie want to be inventors when they grow up.

Papa Owl books are about the adventures of the people of Sandy Island (called Islanders) and the animals who live there too. Every Papa Owl book has an invention and involves making it. There is mathematics and science involved. Each book has a theme which can be developed into activities and projects.
